State Fair a Success
Moving to Grand Island, what a big undertaking.   The new livestock building was "awesome" .   Of course we know there are a few things to get worked out in swine showring, and speaker systems in the beef arenas, but what a great experience.  Ribbons received by Alliance students included Shelby Andersen- Middle weight Champion gilt, purple in swine, blue in swine,  Purple showmanship, Blue carcass swine, Alyssa Dye- blue Range board, Chase Dye -Blue range board, Ashtyn Shrewsbury-blue range board, Nikki Dunovsky- Red Artificial Flower Arrangement. The weather was great!   It was good to see FFA was represented well at the Nebraska State Fair.

FFA members community service project
FFA members had booths set up for free testing of nitrates in rural wells at both Sheridan County and Box Butte County Fairs.  This is not only a community service project but a cooperative project with Gordon Rushville FFA and Hemingford FFA.  Any time we can assist to let a community member know if their well water is high or low in nitrates this is a postive moment for educating the community about water concerns in Nebraska.   Members who were involved included Angello Warfield, Ashtyn Shrewsbury, Alyssa Dye, Chase Dye, Bret Schwaderer, Brittany Andersen, and Shelby Andersen.
